So you'll need to find the appropriate driveshaft for the transmission you just bought and have the driveshaft lengthened. The only thing left is to determine if your differential companion flange is correct for the driveshaft. Some people have experienced issues with mounting the 87-89 transmissions into the 84-86 bodies. If the holes do not line up perfectly, you have several options. You can drill and tap new holes in the body (you might want to reinforce it). You can slot the holes in the transmission crossmember. Or you could stretch the bushing to mount it (not recommended).The non-turbo and the 84-86 turbo came with a 240mm flywheel. The 87-89 turbo came with a 250mm flywheel. This isn't the overall diameter of the flywheel, it is the diameter of the clutch surface area. The overall diameter of the flywheel is the same. They were both model E4N71B and featured and electronic lockup feature.The E4N71B can provide lockup in all forward speeds by using a microprocessor to electronicaly control the lockup.
